Chalmers (main room)
About: The Taster class is a 30minute bite-size introduction to some basic
movements of swing dancing (shag, baboa, lindy hop or charleston). Fun and simple moves to
get you on the floor dancing to the band, zero dance experience needed for this class.
How much?: Cost is $12.00, which includes admission to the dance with Stompy
Jones.

What if I want to take 2, one-hour series classes, how much? (7pm - 8pm and 8pm - 9pm)
The price is an additional $25.00 (4 week series) or an additional $30.00 (5 week
series). Pay the added class fee at the door, or use the below to button to purchase a 2nd
one-hour class ONLY if you have already purchased a $55.00 series class.
After my series class, what do I do?
You can sit, socialize and sip a drink with friends in Giseppe's Lounge until the 9pm
beginning drop in taster class, which is included with any paid series class, then at
9:30pm, dance!
Do I have to come with a partner?
No, you stand in a circle and rotate to new people, therefore meeting new faces every
night.
What is the difference between a series and drop-in class?
Series classes last for xx amount of weeks (4 in our case, sometimes 5) and each class
is progressive, building upon the last. Drop-in taster classes offer (in our case
beginning) steps every week, that are not progressive.
What exactly is Lindy Hop, Balboa or Collegiate Shag?

How should I dress?
We have guys in suits, gals in dresses, vintage and modern alike. People also wear
slacks, jeans, t-shirts, skirts... the whole sha-bang, dress comfortable. Just no tank
tops/cut off shirts for men. Also, deoderant and mints/gum for a good smelling breath is a
given, unless you don't want anyone to dance with you of course!
Can I take private lessons?
Yes, lessons with the Lindy or Balboa teachers are available, please inquire for
information.
