Verdi kicks ass!! Went there for the first time last night. Cool venue, easy parking, nice floor, great bar/lounge area, and of course great music.

Thanks guys for keeping the Tuesday night swing alive! I went back to the Verdi club last night for the first time since it opened and I had a GREAT time. The sound is excellent, the lights were dimmed, the dancing was excellent, and the drinks were cheap.

Thanks for a great job!

Tuesday last night was absolutely amazing. The energy of the venue and the people was out of this world. First, it was packed, there were people sitting at all the tables and the balconies and the dance floor was full all the way till almost the very end. Second, folks were dancing like crazy, I had such fun dances. All the dancers I have seen or danced with were really into giving all they had on the dance floor, dancing to the max.

The Band blew me away. I remember back in the day when Stompy Jones (aka Swing Session) used to play only the fast jump blues pam-pam-pam songs, but they got so much better in playing for dancers. I mean, really better. :luv:

They still have the unique “Tuesday Night Jump” feel, but they built on top of it an amazing line of musicality. Their set range from the energetic and fast swing songs, to some jump blues selections, mid-tempo laid back tunes and a good selection of slow blues songs. Who would have thought - Blues dancing to live music at a swing venue? It was absolutely awesome. :music: Whatever song they played, they always kept the energy level high and the dancers engaged. I think this is one of the few venues where you can dance to such a variety of live music (and dance styles from lindy to blues to bal..). and you know what? with all that variety there is a very clear atmosphere and musical feel driving a solid style and energy. it feels a very focused night.

The DJing was superb too and I liked how at the end of the night he threw at us slower and more interesting songs. I even saw two couples experiment with Tango at the very last song! I never thought I would see that…

I already mentioned the high level of energy, and I think one of contributing factors (or results) was that I felt people were striving to experiment and express themselves musically and that inspired me to no ends. I even saw groups of dancers working on crazy Charleston variation and jazz steps at the corners, and at one point there was a big apple circle appearing out of nowhere and folks took turns in calling out moves. it kicked ass! :kick:

I can't wait for a chance to dance again to Tuesday Night Jump at the new club verdi location - it's bigger, so there will more room for fast lindy ;) Although I hope it would get full pretty quick!

Anyhow, if you haven't been to the Tuesday Night Jump in a while, or maybe never, you got to go and check it out, I think you will find it awesome!
